Our facilities house both private paying residents and Medicaid clients, additionally we accept Section 8 and offer rent-subsidy, where available. Medicare does not cover the cost of living in an assisted living or residential care facility however; some private health and long-term care insurance policies do include coverage for these living options. If the individual has an insurance policy, they should check with thier agent to determine exactly what the policy will cover. Medicaid can be a funding source for assisted living or residential care in many states for individuals who meet certain financial and medical criteria. For those individuals lacking in financial resources for care, contact should be made with their your local Department of Human Services, Seniors and People with Disabilities office, or Area Agency on Aging to explore programs and services for which they may qualify. While costs for assisted living and residential care may vary greatly, they are generally determined by size of unit and services provided. CCL-managed buildings will generally have a base rent determined by unit size in each community and then apply a point system to determine additional fee levels that are directly proportionate to the amount and intensity of services required. For apartments without services, Section 8 vouchers may be available to certain income-qualifying households, obtained through their local Housing Authority, or a rent subsidy and utility allowance may be available at the building. Each building director will be able to answer specific questions regarding their community and thoroughly explain the method of determining monthly charges at their facility. |
