Introduction to the Care Briefing Series©

The Care Briefing Series is a series of informational pamphlets that have been developed by Concepts in Community Living, Inc. Our intent is to provide prospective residents of our managed facilities and the community at large, with basic information about health conditions which are often a catalyst for a family's decision to consider long term care arrangements for themselves or their loved ones.

Our goal is to help the family or prospective resident to make a more informed decision about the type of care that is needed. Each pamphlet provides information regarding a specific problem or limitation that often leads people to look at assisted living.

Pamphlets currently available in the series include:

• Informed Decision

Pamphlets scheduled for availability in 2004 include:

• Arthritis
• Hypertension
• Congestive Heart Failure

• Nutritional disorders

Additional topics may also be added from time to time as the need arises. Each pamphlet will give an over view of the topic or brief description of the impairment, its causes, problems most often associated with the condition, suggestions on how to deal with the condition from a care giver's point of view, resources available for help, and the positive environment that assisted living can provide when needed.
