QUESTIONS ABOUT ASSISTED LIVING | THE COST

The ability to provide the highest quality environment and services at a reasonable cost is a key objective for CCL-managed facilities. Many design features support efficient operating strategies.

Common Areas and Service Areas
We have intentionally designed the building such that the common areas and the service areas are in the same part of the building. This is important because it allows us to more efficiently provide services and maintain oversight with fewer staff than might otherwise be necessary. Efficient staffing allows more resident attention at less cost.

Two-way Call System
In addition to the security and safety provided by the two-way call system, it is extremely efficient. You can communicate with the person in the unit from the front desk. Staff need not go to the unit to find out what someone wants. The call system also enables staff to remind individual residents of meal times, appointments, or other activities.

Placement of Special Purpose Areas
Besides assuring that all common and service areas are near each other, they are also placed so as to increase efficiency. The medication room is near the dining room to ease the delivery of medications at mealtime. The public bathrooms are located near the dining room and other common areas to help assure that people with incontinence problems can still enjoy meals and activities. The bathing room is located to be close to other common and service areas but also to allow privacy for people coming to use the tub. There are other special areas of smaller scale that are conveniently located around the building. These areas encourage resident interaction and allow for resting by those who may have difficulty walking longer distances.
